Service Description

Explore the exciting world of Costume Design and take your designs to the next level. Excellent for students interested in anime! This course is taught by Zani Denton, expert couturier, seamstress, and designer. Students will learn the essential cutting and sewing techniques that will prepare them for the apparel industry. Hand-finishing techniques and machine sewing techniques in novelty fabrics will also be taught, along with their application. You'll gain new construction and finishing techniques. We'll also create character identity through costume by creating mood boards, color stories, and illustrations. The students will complete 1 to 2 pieces showcasing their creativity and individuality! >> STUDENTS MUST HAVE BASIC EXPERIENCE USING A SEWING MACHINE BEFORE ENROLLING IN THIS CLASS Supplies and fabrics from our fabric room are included; however, they may want/need to purchase additional fabric on their own to complement their designs. Course Skills: • Machine sewing • Hand sewing • Construction • Draping • Cutting/pinning/ironing/pressing/finishing • Creating a garment using a pattern • Fashion illustration NO CLASSES: Oct 14 (Columbus Day), Nov 11 (Veterans Day)

Cancellation Policy

CLASSES/CAMPS/WORKSHOPS Our classes, camps and workshops accommodate a limited number of students to help better their experience at The Fashionable Stylista. To Reschedule: If you need to reschedule, you may use the credit towards any of our classes, camps or services. To Cancel: If you do need to cancel, you may receive a refund minus 15% of the amount paid. MAKEUPS: If you enroll in any of our classes; you are allowed to make up as many classes as you miss throughout the semester you are enrolled in. Makeup classes will not carry over into future enrollments. IF WE SHOULD CANCEL: Should The Fashionable Stylista cancel a camp, workshop, or course for any reason, a refund will be made in full within 10 business days. ***** Payment plan options available with a 10% upcharge fee.
