Service Description

2nd–8th Grade Fashion Design & Sewing Our Winter/Spring 2nd–8th Grade Fashion Design & Sewing session is designed for both new and returning students who are passionate about fashion and ready to bring their creative ideas to life! Students will learn how to sew real clothing pieces and accessories while exploring every step of the fashion design process — from sketching and mood boards to cutting, sewing, and finishing their own unique garments. No experience is needed — our program is progressive and skill-building, allowing each student to learn at their own pace while developing confidence and mastery over time. Returning students will continue to advance their techniques and design skills, while beginners will receive step-by-step guidance to feel comfortable and inspired from day one. Throughout the semester, students complete a variety of creative design projects that encourage imagination, problem-solving, and self-expression. The session concludes with our End-of-Semester Fashion Show in June (date TBD), where every designer shines on the runway, showcasing their handmade pieces and design collections. Skills Students Will Learn: • Machine sewing and hand sewing techniques • Upcycling and sustainable design • Cutting, pinning, ironing, and finishing garments • Using patterns and understanding garment construction • Creating mood boards and exploring trends • Fashion sketching and illustration • Fabric selection and color coordination • Designing and presenting a cohesive collection
